The 1035 Danish Government has shelved the plans for a road toll scheme for Copenhagen. The decision has been welcomed by opposition parties, and the government is now set increase funding for public transport so that ticket prices can be reduced.
The first ever Albanian Congress on Roads will be held later this year in Tirana. The two-day event hosted by the Albanian Association of Consulting Engineers (AACE) in cooperation with the Albanian Builders Association (SHNSH), Albanian Geo-Technical Association (AAGeo) and the Albanian Association of Geodesy (AAG) is being backed by, among others, the country’s Ministry of Public Works and Transports. Organisers of the Congress say Albania has improved and upgraded road network during the past two decade
Indonesia’s toll road expansion programme is continuing to grow. Bidding is commencing for three toll road projects; the 83.9km Serang-Panimbang route in Banten, the 58.6km Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumdawu) route in West Java, the 29.3km Legundi-Bunder route in East Java.
Plans to introduce the Cross-Border Enforcement Directive in Europe now look set to move ahead, despite news of the UK decision to delay its opting into the scheme.
