The 1035 Danish Government has shelved the plans for a road toll scheme for Copenhagen. The decision has been welcomed by opposition parties, and the government is now set increase funding for public transport so that ticket prices can be reduced.
The tender process for four major toll road projects in Indonesia will commence during 2017. The Indonesian Government is partnering with the World Bank to handle the four projects. The new Bali toll road will improve transport links in Bali, while the construction of the Tegal-Cilacap toll road will provided a much-needed new link in Central Java. Work on Indonesia’s new Kartasura-Kebakkramat toll road is due for completion in 2014. The Public Works Ministry expects to complete the land acquisition process during this year. The budget for the project has not been disclosed so far. When it is complete, the 22km toll road project will connect with the Kertosono (East Java)-Surakarta (Central Java) toll road.
