Colombian city Cali is spending a healthy US$300 million on major road infrastructure projects. These are scheduled to commence in the second half of 2010.

Colombian city Cali is spending a healthy US$300 million on major road infrastructure projects. These are scheduled to commence in the second half of 2010. The Cali city council has been the target of criticism for the projects but says that the work is necessary to reduce congestion and improve road safety in the city.

    Fifty local councils in England saw more than a ten per cent increase in killed and seriously injured (KSI) crash rates between 2010 and 2011, according to an Institute for Advanced Motorists (IAM) analysis of the new road accident figures. The country’s leaders have approved a US$2 million (Nigerian Naira N325 million) “transactional advisory services” contract to assess how to design and build, finance and operate a “Second Niger Bridge.” Contractor Roughton International Limited has been given 16 months to come back with a detailed schedule of how to progress.
