Canadian highway deal

Plans are now being worked on in Canada to extend the key Highway 407 in Ontario.

Plans are now being worked on in Canada to extend the key Highway 407 in Ontario. The two stage extension programme will see the highway being lengthened by 22km initially and then with a further 23km section being added. The first section will run from Brock Road in Pickering to Harmony Road in Oshawa and is due for completion by 2015. The second phase will link with Highway 35/115 and is due for completion by 2020. The total cost of the 45km highway extension has yet to be revealed and the link will be tolled to pay for the work.
