Plans are now well in hand for Australia's new Hill M2 highway in Sydney.

Plans are now well in hand for Australia's new Hill M2 highway in Sydney. An agreement has been struck by the authorities in New South Wales (NSW) and road tolling firm the 3365 Transurban Group for the project. Construction work for the US$544 million (A$550 million) project is expected to start in December of this year and is due for completion in 2013. Much of the work will be carried out by 2685 Leighton Contractors.

The Vögele SUPER 3000-2 paver was able to advance continuously at a rate of almost 4m/min.   • Bolivia road project halted

    Construction work on the road connecting the Bolivian towns of Riberalta and Rurrenabaque has been halted. The project to upgrade Bolivia’s Route 8 is being carried out by a Chinese contractor. Work started on the project in 2014 and is supposed to be complete in 2020 but is said to be significantly behind schedule, with only 11% of the planned work having been carried out.     Yotta Australia, the authorised distributor of Horizons software in Australia and New Zealand, has won its first contracts for the visualised asset management platform. The recently signed software and service agreement will see Horizons, a Software-as-a-Service platform, support two large-scale Maintenance Alliance Contracts encompassing more than 7,500km of arterial road network for VicRoads, the road and traffic authority in the state of Victoria.
