Mählers, best known globally for its snow ploughs, has broadened its range of attachments with the addition of a vehicle-mounted hydraulic rotating sweeper.

The SOP-LB2800 sweeper is intended for use on trucks and wheel loaders and features an "active" float mode to give balanced pressure on the ground and especially when following contours of the road surface.

Active float gives the right brush pressure evenly across its full width, regardless of its position relative to the host vehicle. This also contributes to increased bristle lifetime, explains Oscar Nyberg, a designer at Mählers and who helped develop the sweeper.

The LB2800 sweeper can swivel through ± 35º and can be equipped with lateral displacement and irrigation with separate water tank. The sweeper is designed for easy maintenance and the brush-rings can be quickly replaced by hand, according to the company.

Brush width (straight) is 2800mm while the minimum brushing width is 2350mm. Circumference of the brush rings is 915mm and hydraulic flow is between 40-80 litres per minute.

For transportation the SOP-LB2800 sweeper weighs in at 850kg with a minimum transport width of 3025mm. Ground clearance at maximum lift 200mm.

The company, based in Rossön, Sweden, unveiled the SOP-LB2800 at this year's Maskin-Expo for machinery in Stockholm, Sweden, in May.
