Italian firm 7403 Industry AMS has improved its range of guard rail and end treatment technologies. The firm’s latest SMA 100 crash cushion is claimed to offer the best performance characteristics in its class and features reduced dimensions, stability and high functionality. The firm says that the SMA 110 is particularly resilient and has proven able to cope with impact speeds of up to 130km/h in trials, while meeting the EN 1317 requirements.

The system is said to be highly effective at absorbing impact forces, reducing the risk of injuries to vehicle occupants. Hexagonal impact absorbing cells are said to be particularly effective and as with the other SMA crash cushions in the range, the firm offers two installation options.
