Improved road drainage with ACO

ACO Water Management claims it has solutions to deliver effective surface water management in the road environment.

ACO says that its water management solutions can boost road surface life

The firm says that its solutions can help reduce the problem of potholes by optimising road drainage.

Standing water on a road can contribute to road wear when a vehicle drives over the top, while low temperatures can cause the freeze-thaw effect, which exacerbates wear on the road surface.

According to ACO, collection systems such as its RoadDrain, are designed to remove water from the road surface. Maintenance is critical for highway applications according to ACO, as debris from the road will impact hydraulic capacity and cleaning drainage channels can help to minimise surface deterioration.

ACO says that its free-to-use QuAD software allows users to test a proposed maintenance regime for a channel design, based on anticipated sediment and silt build up. Combining the latest water management systems with planned maintenance can reduce potholes and boost road safety.

Bergkamp is introducing the M310CS truck-mounted slurry seal and micro surfacing paver, with power coming from its Tier 4 emissions compliant truck engine. With PTO-driven hydraulic pumps, the M310CS has eliminated the need for a side engine. This reduces exhaust emissions, noise and vibration while delivering power and performance equal to the side engine package that is standard on the M310 Paver. The M310CS is said to be productive and features the sophisticated electronic mix control and diagnostic (EMC
