Using the new countdown system for temporary traffic lights will help boost safety according to supplier Peter Berghaus
300 Peter Berghaus is now offering a redesigned countdown system for temporary and mobile traffic lights that is more visible than previous units. The red countdown display for fixed phase traffic light systems has been redesigned with a 185mm high LED display fitted in a weatherproof housing. The red countdown display is protected by an aluminium housing and features white reflective lettering.

The countdown display can be positioned directly above or next to the red light, so that road users can also see the direct physical reference to the red light. The unit requires a DC supply of 10-15V and is powered by the battery in the mobile traffic light system. Automatic brightness adjustment ensures that the display can be seen clearly.
