Widening and upgrade work for the Autopista Norte motorway in Bogota is commencing in September 2017. The work will be carried out by the Accesos Norte de Bogota (Accenorte) consortium and forms part of Colombia’s 4G road development programme. The project is costing in excess of US$429 million, with Accenorte sourcing the necessary financing for the project, which is being handled under the PPP model.

The consortium is recouping its costs through tolling over the 25-year period of its operation and maintenance deal for the route. The project was awarded to the consortium by Colombia’s National Infrastructure Agency (ANI).
