South Australia road widening project planned

The widening of a 10km stretch of road connecting Aldinga with Seaford in South Australia is being proposed. The project is expected to cost US$231 million (A$305 million) and will see the Main South Rd from Aldinga to Seaford being doubled.

The widening of a 10km stretch of road connecting Aldinga with Seaford in South Australia is being proposed. The project is expected to cost US$231 million (A$305 million) and will see the Main South Road from Aldinga to Seaford being doubled. This work will help in increasing safety, boosting capacity and cutting congestion in the area to the south of Adelaide. The project is expected to commence in 2019 but will require the compulsory purchase of land to allow the route to be widened by the necessary 30m.
