Road investment benefit for Montenegro

China's Exim Bank is providing financing worth some €800 million to the Government of Montenegro for a highway project. The loan will be used to pay for work to a section of the Bar-Boljari highway stretch. The work on the Podgorica-Kolasin stretch is due to commence shortly and will be carried out by the Chinese contractor CC International. China's Exim Bank is providing financing worth some €800 million to the Government of Montenegro for a highway project. The loan will be used to pay for work to a section of the Bar-Boljari highway stretch. The work on the Podgorica-Kolasin stretch is due to commence shortly and will be carried out by the Chinese contractor CC International. The Government of Montenegro will borrow some €118 million for capital projects and €240 million for the budget requirements. Of this, €10 million is to be borrowed from the Bank for Development of Council of Europe, €20 million from the 1166 European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, €20 million from the 1054 European Investment Bank (EIB), and €68 million from the 2332 World Bank.

    Construction will commence on the new connection from Kosovo’s capital Pristina to Nis in Serbia. The first stretch of the highway to be built will be the 77km section from Nis to Merdare in Serbia.     The World Bank and the Indian state of Kerala's Department of Economic Affairs have signed a loan agreement worth US$215.1 million (INR 11.66bn) to finance the second phase of the Kerala State Transport Project (KSTP). In its 2013/2014 budget, Kerala allocated $51.65 million (INR 2.8bn) for the implementation of the second phase of KSTP. In the second phase, about $443.3 million (INR 24.03bn) will be spent to develop 367km of state highways spread over eight corridors built to international standards.
