New Indonesia toll road seeks funding

Financing for a 240km toll road project that will connect Padang with Pekanbaru in Indonesia still needs to be finalised. A combination of loans from the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA) and PPP funding is expected to pay for the project. In all the project is expected to cost US$2.63 billion, with construction work intended to start in 2018.

Financing for a 240km toll road project that will connect Padang with Pekanbaru in Indonesia still needs to be finalised. A combination of loans from the Japan International Co-operation Agency (6706 JICA) and PPP funding is expected to pay for the project. In all the project is expected to cost US$2.63 billion, with construction work intended to start in 2018. The new road link will reduce travel time on the route from Padang to Bukittinggi and through to Pekanbaru from 8-10 hours at present to 3-4 hours in the future.

    The Nepalese Government is to receive a loan from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for a key tunnel project. The JICA loan is being offered at an interest rate of 1% for the next 40 years. The project is expected to cost in the region of US$150.1 million to construct.     Vietnam’s government has secured an ODA (Overseas Development Agency) financial support package worth US$844.95 million (JPY 86.4 billion) for four infrastructure projects in the country.
