New Indonesia toll road seeks funding

Financing for a 240km toll road project that will connect Padang with Pekanbaru in Indonesia still needs to be finalised. A combination of loans from the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA) and PPP funding is expected to pay for the project. In all the project is expected to cost US$2.63 billion, with construction work intended to start in 2018.

Financing for a 240km toll road project that will connect Padang with Pekanbaru in Indonesia still needs to be finalised. A combination of loans from the Japan International Co-operation Agency (6706 JICA) and PPP funding is expected to pay for the project. In all the project is expected to cost US$2.63 billion, with construction work intended to start in 2018. The new road link will reduce travel time on the route from Padang to Bukittinggi and through to Pekanbaru from 8-10 hours at present to 3-4 hours in the future.

    Work is progressing on an important toll road project in Indonesia that will link Bogor, Sukabumi and Ciawi in West Java. The construction work is being carried out by Trans Jabar Tol, a subsidiary of state-owned firm Waskita Karya. The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is planning to offer US$1.4 billion for Tanzania’s New Bagamoyo Highway road project.
