New Chinese highways for Sichuan, Guangxi and Guangdong Provinces

Five new highway links are planned to be built in Sichuan, Guangxi and Guangdong Provinces. In all the projects are expected to cost some US$18.14 billion. The Barkam-Wenchuan highway in Sichuan Province will cost $4.65 billion while the Baise-Hechi highway in Guangxi Province will cost $2.55 billion. The Chaozhou Guxiang-Dongshan highway and Huaiji-Longchuan highway in Guangdong Province will cost $1.2 billion and $6.49 billion respectively. Five new highway links are planned to be built in Sichuan, Guangxi and Guangdong Provinces. In all the projects are expected to cost some US$18.14 billion. The Barkam-Wenchuan highway in Sichuan Province will cost $4.65 billion while the Baise-Hechi highway in Guangxi Province will cost $2.55 billion. The Chaozhou Guxiang-Dongshan highway and Huaiji-Longchuan highway in Guangdong Province will cost $1.2 billion and $6.49 billion respectively. The highway connecting Liuzhou with Nanning will cost $3.25 billion. Approval for these projects was given by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).

Guangxi Communications Investment will launch eight expressway projects in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.     The go ahead has been given for a major highway project in China’s Yunnan Province. The US$3.25 billion highway will connect Shangri-La and Lijiang. The project has received approval from the National Development and Reform Commission of China. In addition, approval has also been given by the National Development and Reform Commission for the $471.8 million Zhejiang section of the highway connecting Hangzhou with Nanjing.

    China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region says it is spending US$49.76 billion (CNY 307.7 billion) on 24 new expressways in 2014. Once completed, the expressways will cover 3,467km. On 26 September 2014, construction started on a 177km Hechi-Baise expressway, while the 92km Hechi-Du'an expressway is already in use. The Hechi-Du'an expressway has a 100km/hour speed limit.

    In the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China, plans have been drawn up to construct 24 expressways with a total investment of US$49.76 billion. The expressways will have a total length of 3,467km. Construction has started on the 177km Hechi-Baise expressway while the 92km Hechi-Du'an expressway has started operation. The Hechi-Du'an expressway has been designed for vehicle speeds of up to 100km/h.
