A series of road projects is being awarded in Nepal. The announcements over the winning tenders for 13 projects is being made in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu. Financing worth US$300 million is being provided from Indian sources.
New road projects are being planned for India’s Karnataka State and Maharashtra State. A US$228.56 million contract has been awarded to Sadhbav Engineering for the Nagpur-Mumbai Super Communication Expressway. The route will be access-controlled and the deal was awarded by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation.
Chile is pushing ahead with infrastructure development. The Ministry of Public Works intends to award five to seven projects during 2016. The Ministry of Public Works has also set a target of having 12-13 major infrastructure projects being awarded and worth a total of US$6 billion by the time the current administration comes to the end of its term.

A series of major road projects is now getting underway in Poland, while tenders for new projects are also opening. Estimates suggest that the construction of six new ring-roads in the Opolszczyzna region will cost some €356 million. These ring roads all form part of the 2014-2023 National Road Construction Programme. The first projects to be carried out will be for the ring-roads around Mysliny and Niemodlina. In all, the National Road Construction Programme will include the building of 57 ring-roads.
