A series of road projects is being awarded in Nepal. The announcements over the winning tenders for 13 projects is being made in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu. Financing worth US$300 million is being provided from Indian sources.
Plans are being up in Thailand’s capital Bangkok for a new expressway project in a bid to cut the city’s chronic congestion problem. This new route would provide a connection between the Western Outer Ring Road and Rama II Road. The project is being planned by the Expressway Authority of Thailand (Exat). Financing for the project worth US$918.3 million will be provided by the Thailand Future Fund (TTF). The European Investment Bank (EIB) looks likely to grant Poland a loan of €1.6 billion to carry out several key infrastructure projects. Some of the money will be used to finance the A2 highway from Lodz to Warsaw; Warsaw's southern ring road and a 50km section of the A4 highway to link with Germany.
MISK wins tender for Moscow’s Yuzhnaya Rokada road
The Moscow Engineering and Construction Company (MISK) has won the tender for construction of the second section of Moscow’s Southern lateral highway.
MISK was the only contractors tendering for the contract, worth nearly US$74.3 million, for the section called Yuzhnaya Rokada. Details include construction of 5km of road, essential side lanes, more than 300m of overpasses and turnoffs.
Work is expected to take nearly 20 months.
