Moscow road repairs budget set

Moscow is pushing ahead with its programme of road repairs in the city and surrounding area. During 2016 some 2,100km of roads benefited from necessary repair and maintenance work. This work cost over US$162 million, with funding coming from the Moscow Regional Budget. The city’s chronic traffic congestion is made worse by the poor state of the road network in many areas of Moscow and plans are in hand to carry out repairs to address the issue. Moscow is pushing ahead with its programme of road repairs in the city and surrounding area. During 2016 some 2,100km of roads benefited from necessary repair and maintenance work. This work cost over US$162 million, with funding coming from the Moscow Regional Budget. The city’s chronic traffic congestion is made worse by the poor state of the road network in many areas of Moscow and plans are in hand to carry out repairs to address the issue. With high traffic volumes and a tough climate to contend with, the city’s road network does require extensive maintenance work to stay in good condition.
