Moroccan highway extension on track

Moroccan motorway operator Autoroutes du Maroc (ADM) has announced that by 2016, the country will have a motorway network extending some 1,800km. The motorway network will have cost around US$5.1 billion to construct. ADM will also celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2016. At present ADM operates 1,511km of motorway. This is the second longest network in Africa. Further plans are in hand, with the focus now on improving connections between the north and the south of the country. An additional 2,000km of roads

Moroccan motorway operator 5199 Autoroutes du Maroc (ADM) has announced that by 2016, the country will have a motorway network extending some 1,800km. The motorway network will have cost around US$5.1 billion to construct. ADM will also celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2016. At present ADM operates 1,511km of motorway. This is the second longest network in Africa. Further plans are in hand, with the focus now on improving connections between the north and the south of the country. An additional 2,000km of roads will be constructed.

    Kazakhstan has set a budget for road repairs of nearly US$167 million in a bid to ensure that its network remains in good condition. The country has set a target to repair and maintain around 5,000km of local roads/year. In 2017 around 2,000km of roads of national importance were repaired, while 1,800km of roads of national importance will be repaired in 2018. In all, 4,200km of roads will be repaired in Kazakhstan in 2018, according to the country's Ministry of Investment and Development.
