Hanoi in Vietnam to benefit from new bridges

The Vietnamese city of Hanoi is set to benefit from a series of bridge construction projects, which are intended to reduce the city’s chronic traffic congestion. These new bridges will span the Red River and Duong River, which flow through the city. The projects are being planned by the Hanoi city authorities and also include the construction of link roads.

The Vietnamese city of Hanoi is set to benefit from a series of bridge construction projects, which are intended to reduce the city’s chronic traffic congestion. These new bridges will span the Red River and Duong River, which flow through the city. The projects are being planned by the Hanoi city authorities and also include the construction of link roads. In all the projects are worth a total of US$1.1 billion, with the work being handled under the build-operate-transfer and build-transfer models. Two of the key projects are for the construction of a bridge spanning the Duong River and connecting Hanoi with Bac Ninh Province and for the 3km long Ti Lien Bridge. Another major project will see the construction of a 9km road section joining Hanoi with Thai Nguyen Province. The other bridges will be built in Long Bien District and Gia Lam District. All of the projects should be opened to traffic during 2021.
