Funding found for planned Pakistan project

Funding has been secured for a major highway project in Pakistan. Some US$100 million is being provided by the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) for work on Pakistan’s M-4 Motorway project. The investment will take the form of co-financing for the Shorkot-Khanewal section of this major road project. AIIB is based in China and has commented that there is major potential in Pakistan for infrastructure development.

    Funding has been secured for a series of road works in Argentina. The Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) is providing US$300 million in the shape of a loan for work on a number of key routes. The road projects being targeted include Routes 6 and Route 8 in Rio Negro; Route 23 in Villa Elisa; the Gualeguaychu ring-road; Route 1 in Catamarca.     Funding has been found for a new beltway project in Vietnam. The work will be financed jointly by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV). The two have signed agreements for loans worth close to US$160 million for the project. ADB will provide a $12.58 million loan to finance preparation works for Beltway No3 in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.
