Highways Agency appoints Mott MacDonald for maintenance

In the UK Mott MacDonald has been reappointed as support service provider by the Highways Agency (HA). The agreement covers the centralised maintenance depot terminal equipment (CMDTE) system. In the UK 2579 Mott MacDonald has been reappointed as support service provider by the 2309 Highways Agency (HA). The agreement covers the centralised maintenance depot terminal equipment (CMDTE) system. The consultancy will manage the on-going operation of the system which supports the HA’s emergency roadside telephones (ERT) placed along the motorway and trunk road network in England.

CMDTE is the back office system that monitors and records faults with approximately 7500 ERTs. The project aims to maintain system hardware and software services to help ensure 97% of these are available for use should a road user’s vehicle breakdown. Under the new three-year contract, Mott MacDonald will continue to supply a first line technical support helpdesk to liaise with all HA traffic management systems’ stakeholders, including engineers and contract managers. The IT security communities will also be monitored and the consultancy will carry out security patching and operating updates to the system when required.
