The private sector will channel the remaining fund through tolls. A toll for using the 33km motorway will be reportedly capped at $7.21 (AUD 7.70).

With its construction earmarked to begin in early 2015, the Westconnex motorway will include a series of underground three-lane tunnels connecting the southwestern and western suburbs of the city with Port Botany, central business district and airport. It is projected that the motorway will be able to create thousands of jobs and slash times for motorists in the west of the city.
