Norra Lanken in the center of Stockholm is a 16km highway and tunnel system
Norra Länken (Northern Link), a 16km highway and tunnel system in the centre of the Swedish capital Stockholm, is one of the country’s largest highway and infrastructure projects.

It will create benefits for both the local residents and the road users and will also have significant positive effects on the environment and traffic safety in Stockholm.

1096 Trafikverket, the Swedish Road Administration, has now officially awarded the Norra Länken main contract for electrical installations, control systems and traffic management solutions to Tunnelentreprenad, a joint venture between 2927 Swarco Nordic and 1099 Goodtech.

Goodtech’s proficiency in engineering services and Swarco’s traffic management expertise are said to be an ideal combination to “guarantee state-of-the-art know-how and competence for this large project.”

Hans Petter Ødegaard, managing director of Swarco Nordic, says: “Strategically this is a very important project for us and perfectly in line with our ambitions to take on an extended responsibility in contracting and system integration. We have high ambitions, and the competence and experience we gain from the Norra Länken project will be useful in order to secure our future growth, also outside Sweden.

The project’s base contract value is about e52 million (excluding options), and work has already started and will last until 2015, followed by a five-year service contract, including overall responsibility for maintenance and technical operation.
