Atlas Copco introduces three powerful hydraulic breakers

Atlas Copco has boosted its breaker range with the addition of three new models. These breakers form part of the essential case-mounted (EC) range and are designed to fit 22- 49tonne carriers. The heavy range breakers are the EC 140 T, EC 150 T and EC 155 T. As with other models in this range, the new units are said to offer fast return on investment due to factors such as simplifed maintenance and operation. High output is claimed for the latest generation of heavy-duty breakers from Atlas Copco
161 Atlas Copco has boosted its breaker range with the addition of three new models.

The firm claims that these EC breakers generate powerful forces inside a compact body while being simple and durable, suiting them to use in rental and equipment fleets.

The EC breakers feature Atlas Copco’s box-style mounting design, which eliminates the need for removing external fasteners to access components, such as wear bushings and seals. This reduces service times and helps boost utilisation.

The heavy-duty attachments deliver impact rates as high as 800bpm and provide high breaking power to the working area. High power-to-weight ratios are said to ensure high productivity in a range of demolition, earthwork, quarrying and trenching duties.

The new EC breakers are also said to offer smooth operation and long service lives, with features such as nitrogen-gas assist and Atlas Copco’s novel energy recovery system. The nitrogen piston accumulator works with the hydraulic oil to accelerate the piston, which decreases the hydraulic oil demand from the carrier’s hydraulic systems and delivers high-impact energy. The energy recovery system is said to minimise hydraulic pressure spikes and return reflected energy within the hydraulic accumulator to increase impact performance for the next blow.

The breakers also feature Atlas Copco’s VibroSilenced Plus technology to reduce working noise. This is said to isolate the percussion mechanism from the breaker box using polyurethane damping and seals at attachment openings.

Atlas Copco says that its medium-size MB1500 hydraulic breaker is both versatile and productive. Robust and sturdy in design, this hammer can be used for demolition, trenching or quarrying work. Straightforward and reliable, the MB1500 is said to have low maintenance needs and is not fitted with a high-pressure accumulator, reducing the number of moving components it features. However the unit is equipped with Atlas Copco's StartSelect and AutoControl packages, which allow start-up and shutdown to match th
