Work underway on Macedonia’s new highways

In Macedonia work is now being carried out on two new highway projects. One project is for the construction of a 57km highway between Kiceva and Ohrid and the work is expected to cost €375 million. The construction work is being carried out by the Chinese contractor Sinohydro Corporation, with finance coming from China's Ex-Im Bank. The 24km Busega-Mpigi Expressway project is being handled by the Chinese contractor China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCEC). The contract is being overseen by the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA). Financing for the project worth US$143 million has been provided in the shape of a loan from the African Development Bank (ADB).
