Work begins on Zhangjiakou section of China’s Erenhot-Qinhuangdao expressway

Work is underway in China's Hebei province on the Zhangjiakou section of Erenhot-Qinhuangdao expressway. A total of US$1.12 billion (CNY 7 billion) will be invested in the 130.13km section, which will span between Dongtan Village of Guyuan County and Bainaobao Village of Kangbao County.

The authorities have revealed that the new infrastructure programme calls for the addition of a further 1,500km of highways. To achieve this, a budget of some US$24.17 billion has been set for the 2014-2015 period. With this road development programme in place the authorities have estimated that by the end of 2015 the province will have a highway network comprising some 4,500km in total.

    Laos is evaluating its plans for the construction of a new expressway for the country’s capital, Vientiane. The project is expected to cost US$150-200 million. The planned route for expressway runs between Xaysettha district's Lao International Trade Exhibition and Convention Centre (Lao-ITECC) and Dongmakkhai village in Xaythany district.
