Vietnam’s new highway connection project moving forward

Vietnam is planning to construct a new expressway in Hoa Binh and Son La provinces in the north of the country. The project is expected to cost US$2.21 billion and will be carried out in two stages under the PPP model. The route runs of 189.5km, with an 85.4km stretch from Hoa Binh to Moc Chau due for completion in 2020. A further 104.1km section will be built later.

Vietnam is planning to construct a new expressway in Hoa Binh and Son La provinces in the north of the country. The project is expected to cost US$2.21 billion and will be carried out in two stages under the PPP model. The route runs of 189.5km, with an 85.4km stretch from Hoa Binh to Moc Chau due for completion in 2020. A further 104.1km section will be built later. The project will provide a further extension to the expressway running from Hanoi to Hoa Binh. The project is expected to help boost transport and economic development in Son La province. The new route will provide an improved transport corridor for northern Vietnam and will also link with the country’s Lach Huyen Port.
