The massive expansion programme of Vietnam’s road network continues as work is underway on new expressway routes.

Work is well underway on Vietnam’s Khanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot Expressway Project-Phase 1, the Van Phong-Nha Trang Expressway Project and the Nha Trang-Cam Lam Expressway project. All three should be complete by 2025.

The 117.5km Khanh Hoa-Buon Ma Thuot Expressway Project-Phase 1 is the largest of the three and forms part of the eastern section of the North-South Expressway Mega-Project, with a cost of US$933.4 million.

Another project will be the widening of the My An-Cao Lanh Expressway in the Mekong Delta Province. Some of the necessary $60 million funding will be provided by the South Korean Government, with the Vietnamese Government sourcing the remainder. The proposal has been put forward by Vietnam’s Ministry of Transport and is for a new expressway with two lanes in either direction stretching 26km and linking Thap Muoi District with Cao Lan District. The expressway would link with National Highway N2, Ho Chi Minh Road and the North-South Expressway.
