Vietnam’s major highway project on track

Construction work is underway on Vietnam’s North-South highway project. A 654km stretch of the route is being built at present, with this work costing US$5.1 billion. Clearance work for other sections of the North-South highway is due co commence. In mid-2019, construction work is due to start on three sections, while tendering will open for eight PPP projects that will for stretches of the North-South highway.

    Work is due to start on an important highway project in Australia’s Queensland State in mid-2020. The second phase of the improvement works for the M1 Pacific Motorway will cost an estimated US$528.3 million (A$749 million). Although the work is only for an 8km stretch, the project is costly as this wide section of the route carries heavy traffic, around 150,000 vehicles/day on average.     The tender process for Colombia’s Buga-Buenaventura fourth generation (4G) toll road project is being planned. The tender for the 114.1km dual carriageway is being handled in two separate stretches however. One of the road stretches will be for a 55.4km section from Buga to Loboguerrero, which is expected to cost US$359.45 million. The 58.7km stretch from Loboguerrero to Buenaventura meanwhile is expected to cost $362.75 million. The Loboguerrero to Buenaventura section of the route includes building a 19km
