Vietnam expressway deal progressing

Plans for Vietnam’s North-South expressway are progressing, with work moving ahead for key portions of the route’s eastern spur. Plans for Vietnam’s North-South expressway are progressing, with work moving ahead for key portions of the route’s eastern spur. A feasibility study has been carried out for the 29km Nha Trang-Cam Lam stretch, which is planned as a PPP project and is expected to cost around US$225 million. Feasibility studies for a further five portions of the North-South expressway are being carried out and should be ready shortly, with three feasibility studies already having been accepted in May 2018.     Plans are in hand in Canada to extend Highway 427 by 6.6km. The final decision over the project has yet to be made by the Ontario Government. The work is expected to cost in the region of C$500 million (US$491 million) to carry out. The work is required as the highway carries a heavy traffic volume and the extension will help reduce congestion in the surrounding area. The work should commence in 2017 once the necessary approvals have been given and the construction would then require an estimated 36 months.
