Vietnam expressway deal progressing

Plans for Vietnam’s North-South expressway are progressing, with work moving ahead for key portions of the route’s eastern spur. A feasibility study has been carried out for the 29km Nha Trang-Cam Lam stretch, which is planned as a PPP project and is expected to cost around US$225 million. Plans for Vietnam’s North-South expressway are progressing, with work moving ahead for key portions of the route’s eastern spur. A feasibility study has been carried out for the 29km Nha Trang-Cam Lam stretch, which is planned as a PPP project and is expected to cost around US$225 million. Feasibility studies for a further five portions of the North-South expressway are being carried out and should be ready shortly, with three feasibility studies already having been accepted in May 2018. Construction work for the expressway is expected to commence in 2020.

  • Polish project tender attracts interest

    Interest is strong in the contract to build a new stretch of expressway in the north of Poland. Nine bids have been made for the project to built a 17km stretch of the S16 expressway, which lies close to the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad. This section will connect Borki Wielke and Mragowo and the work also includes construction a bypass around the latter. The bids range in value from €164.4 million up to €234 million.     Ballooning land acquisition costs are pushing up the cost of the proposed 217km Dhaka-Chittagong Expressway, according to media reports.
