Vietnam coast road project underway

Construction work has commenced on a new coast road project in Vietnam’s Thai Binh Province. The road will provide an important connection, improving transport between the ports at Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and Diem Dien and the Cat Bi International Airport. Construction work has commenced on a new coast road project in Vietnam’s Thai Binh Province. The road will provide an important connection, improving transport between the ports at Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and Diem Dien and the Cat Bi International Airport. It will also connect to the Ninh Binh-Hai Phong-Quang Ninh expressway and improve links between the Thai Binh economic zone, industrial clusters in Thai Thuy and Thien Hai districts. The project is being carried out under the build-operate-transfer model and is costing US$165.9 million in all. The road link measures 35.5km and of the total sum required for the work, investors have provided $54.9 million, with the remainder being provided by the local authorities and the State budget.

    Feasibility studies have been carried out for the No 3 and No 4 beltway projects in Vietnam. The studies were carried out by State-owned firm Transport Engineering Design Inc in the South (TEDI South).
