Plans are in hand in the Ukraine for a new road bridge crossing the Dnieper River. Construction of the new link will take from 36-48 months and will cost an estimated US$1.98 billion. The new bridge will feature eight lanes, with four running in either direction, and will be located close to the town of Ukrainka. When complete the bridge will form part of a 213km ring road project around capital Kiev, outlined in the country's state road development programme. The State Highway Service of Ukraine (2780 UkrAvTodor) has said that contractors are requesting information on the project with an Israeli contractor having shown interest for example.
