The project to construct a new ring road around Ukraine capital Kiev is now building momentum. This US$5 billion project will be 123km long and also includes various connecting roads, with some 148km of road having to be constructed in all. Included in the project are two major bridges spanning the Dieper River, which will be located close to Ukrainka and Starye Petrovtsy. The ring road will eventually form a link in the chain for the overland highway route connecting Europe with Asia. It will also improve connectivity between Eastern and Western Europe and boost international trade.
