UAE road project – first stage commencing

Work is starting on the first phase of a new road project in the UAE. This will see new interchanges being built for International City, Dragon City and Warsan Village as well as the surrounding area. The work will also include widening some existing roads and adding new road signalling technology. The road improvement work is worth nearly US$109 million.

    An important road widening project is starting in the Republic of Bashkortostan, part of the Russian Federation. The contractor, Khotkovsky Avtomost, will widen a 19.65km stretch of the M5 route from a single lane in either direction at present so that it will have two lanes in either direction.   • Namibia road project commencing

    Work is now underway in Namibia to upgrade key road links. One project will see improvement works to the B2 coastal road connecting Swakopmund with Walvis Bay. Another project is for the widening and resurfacing of the C28 link, which runs from Swakopmund to Namibia’s capital Windhoek and will be reclassified as Main Road 44 once the improvements are complete.
