                Work on Turkey's Istanbul-Izmir highway is now in planning. The US$1 billion project will include a radical suspended bridge, said to be one of the longest of its type. A group of banks, 1469   Banca Infrastrutture Innovazione e Sviluppo (BIIS), the infrastructure investment unit of the 1473   Intesa Sanpaolo group, 1474   Citibank and Turkish bank 1476   Akbank are supporting the project. In Turkey BIIS has already funded the Gumusova-Gerede highway, which is worth $239.5 million.
