Turkey highway deal tender opening

The tender process will commence in early 2017 for a new highway project in Turkey. Work on the new highway is expected to commence in the second quarter of 2018 and should take around five years to build. The first tender will be for a 100km section of the route although the highway will be around 352km long in all once it is complete.

    Construction of the Interamericana Norte highway in Costa Rica is said to be proceeding on track. Work is being carried out on the 50km Canas-Liberia section of the project. The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) says that studies for the Canas-Limonal stretch of the new highway have been completed.   • Bidding for Malaysian highway deal

    Bidding is underway in Malaysia for sections of the massive Pan Borneo Highway project. The Malaysian construction firm Gadang Holdings is planning to bid for a number of sections of the project. The company will submit its bid for the highway work in early 2020. The sections of the project it is tendering for have a total estimated value of just over US$223 million although the firm has yet to disclose details of its bid for the work.

  • Astaldi wins contract for part of Romania’s Brasov–Oradea motorway

    Italian contractor Astaldi, as part of a joint venture, has won a €100 million contract to build of motorway in Romania. The contract is 18km of the Brasov–Oradea section of the partially built A3 Autostrade, a 584km route that runs north to south, from the border with Hungary to the capital Bucharest.
