A shortlist of six firms has been drawn up in the bidding process for an expressway project in Laos. The new expressway will connect capital Vientiane with Pakxe and will be around 585km long.

Included in the project will be the construction of tunnel stretches and bridges, with the work being handled under the build-operate-transfer model. Because of the scale of the work, construction will be split into separate sections.
