Tendering is now open for the second phase of the Corredor Duarte road project in the Dominican Republic. The second phase of the project is expected to cost from US$180-200 million. The new link will feature multiple tunnel systems, on the Tiradentes, Winston Churchill, Maximo Gomez and Abraham Lincoln avenues. Construction of the 'Ortega y Gasset' tunnel, between Avenue 27 de Febrero and the Santo Domingo Autonomous University (USAD), is already 40% complete and will be officially opened in November 2011.

    The tender process is opening shortly for a major road widening project in Ecuador. The contract is thought to be worth in the region of US$1 billion. The work will involve widening the E-25 route to four lanes along a 170km stretch. Also include will be the construction of six access roads, five bridges and 36 crossings for pedestrians. Also known as the Santo Domingo-Quevedo-Babahoyo-Jujan road, the project will be carried out as public-private partnership (PPP).
