Tender process underway for Polish road projects

The tender process is underway for two major projects in Poland. One project involves constructing three sections of the new southern ring road around Polish capital Warsaw. Building the 18.5km stretch that comprises the three sections is expected to cost in the region of €1.6 billion. The tender process is underway for two major projects in Poland. One project involves constructing three sections of the new southern ring road around Polish capital Warsaw. Building the 18.5km stretch that comprises the three sections is expected to cost in the region of €1.6 billion. The 3519 Polish General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) says that bids have to be submitted by 10th October 2014. The A section will be some 4.6km long, the B section 6.45km long, whilst the C section will be 7.45km long. GDDKiA has also opened the tendering process to construct three sections of the S6 express road from Goleniow near Szczecin to Koszalin, with a total length of 53.4km. The bids have to be submitted by 15th September 2014 and the contracts should be awarded by during the first half of 2015. GDDKiA expects that each section will take up to 37 months to construct with the whole project have an estimated price of some €718.4 million.

    A series of major road projects is now getting underway in Poland, while tenders for new projects are also opening. Estimates suggest that the construction of six new ring-roads in the Opolszczyzna region will cost some €356 million. These ring roads all form part of the 2014-2023 National Road Construction Programme. The first projects to be carried out will be for the ring-roads around Mysliny and Niemodlina. In all, the National Road Construction Programme will include the building of 57 ring-roads.
