Tender process being prepared for new Czech bypass

In the Czech Republic the new Frydek-Mistek bypass project is being planned. The tender process for the work is expected to commence in early 2015. The project has received the necessary approvals, which is now allowing the tender process to get underway. The work is being planned by the Czech road management company RSD and is expected to cost in the region of €136.4 million. The project bypass will feature some 22 bridges and the work is expected to be complete by 2018.

    The first stage of a controversial Russian bridge project is now complete, with the link having been opened to use by cars and buses. The Kerch Strait bridge spans the Black Sea, connecting Russia’s Taman Peninsula in Krasnodar with Crimea, the latter having been controversially annexed by Russia from Ukraine in 2014.     The Czech Republic is planning a major programme of road upgrades. This will target secondary roads in the country, improving road surfaces as well as safety features. Some €155.45 million is being provided by the Czech Ministry for Local Development for the work.
