St Petersburg link may include tunnel

This tunnel would take the place of the fixed bridge, which has been criticised by some for its impact on the city’s skyline. The 22.6km EHSD will carry 100,000 vehicles/day and will feature three lanes in either direction when it is complete. The route will connect with the Western High-Speed Diameter (WHSD) and the two will serve as a bypass around St Petersburg.
