Spain: Acciona and Copcisa awarded Tres Ponts road tunnel project

A consortium led by Acciona and Copcisa has won a €34.5 million contract to build the Tres Ponts road tunnel in Spain’s Pyrenees mountains.

A consortium led by 976 Acciona and Copcisa has won a €34.5 million contract to build the Tres Ponts road tunnel in Spain’s Pyrenees mountains.

The contract for 3km of the C-14 in Organya was awarded by the regional government of Catalonia. It includes a 1.3km tunnel by the Segre River and associated connecting roads. Work it to start later this year, for completion in 2020.

Local limestone hills around Tres Ponts are a favourite venue for rock climbers.

The C-14 runs from La Seu d'Urgell to Salou through Reus.
