South Korea connection under construction

Construction has commenced on a contract to build a new 27km road link in South Korea. The road will connect the northern and southern regions of South Korea’s Saemanguem area. The work is costing US$813 million and is being carried out in two stages. The first stage of the project should be complete by 2022.

    A major road project is being carried out in Cambodia to improve the transport link between the capital Phnom Penh and the port of Sihanoukville in Preah Sihanouk Province. Work on the 190km road project will cost in the region of US$1.9 billion and should take four years to complete.     Work is now due to commence on the Third Incheon Bridge in South Korea in 2020. The new bridge will measure 4.7km and will have three lanes in either direction, as well as provision for pedestrians and cyclists. Connecting Incheon with the island of Youngjong, where the city’s main airport is located, the bridge is due for completion in 2025. Construction of the link has been delayed due to legal disputes with the operators of the first two bridges.
