Slovakia highway tunnel project – tendering to restart

The tender process will restart in 2019 for Slovakia’s Visnové Tunnel project. The tunnel forms part of the D1 highway. Work was being carried out on the tunnel and highway stretch of the D1 connecting Lietavska, Lucka, Visnové and Dubna Skala by the contractors Salini Impregilo and Duha.   • Slovakia bypass projects planned

    Bidding is strong for the works to construct two bypasses in Slovakia. The road links are the 14.5km long northern Kosice bypass and the 8km Presov bypass. Both bypasses form part of the D1 motorway. The estimated value of both projects is nearly €580 million. Slovakia’s national motorway company NDS opened the bids for the Presov by-pass before the end of 2015. A consortium comprising local firm Duha and Salini Impregilo is amongst the bidders for the work.

  • U-turn on Slovakian motorway tender

    The Italian-Slovak consortium of HANT BA DS and INC has been excluded by the Slovak national motorway company NDS from the tender for the construction of a 15.25km stretch of the Hubova-Ivachvova D1 motorway in Slovakia.     Work on a key portion of a major tunnelling project in Slovakia has been completed. Contractor Doprastav has complete boring of the 2km Ovciarsko tunnel, which forms part of the D1 highway route.
