Slovakia highway projects due for completion

In Slovakia work on three sections of the D1 highway will be complete shortly. One of these is for a 9km section of the D1 from Janovce -Jablonov, which is built by the Czech firm Bogl and Krysl. A 9.5km section of the D1 from Janovce -Jablonov is being built by Eurovia and will be ready at the end of 2015. In Slovakia work on three sections of the D1 highway will be complete shortly. One of these is for a 9km section of the D1 from Janovce -Jablonov, which is built by the Czech firm Bogl and Krysl. A 9.5km section of the D1 from Janovce -Jablonov is being built by 3281 Eurovia and will be ready at the end of 2015. The 11.2km section of the D1 from Fricovce - Svinia is being built a consortium comprising 945 Strabag and 2877 Doprastav and is scheduled for completion in October 2015. The 10.4km section of the R2 route from Pstrusa-Krivan should be completed in December 2015, by a consortium comprising Doprastav, Vahostav and Strabag.

    Bidding is strong for the works to construct two bypasses in Slovakia. The road links are the 14.5km long northern Kosice bypass and the 8km Presov bypass. Both bypasses form part of the D1 motorway. The estimated value of both projects is nearly €580 million.     A consortium is now working on the construction of one stretch of Slovakia’s D1 highway. The section lies between Hričovské Podhradie and Lietavská Lúčka and the project is worth €427 million. The consortium comprises four companies; with Doprastav, Váhostav and STRABAG all holding equal 32% stakes of the contract and Metrostav having a minority 4% share.     Plans are now going ahead in Slovakia for a key stretch of the D1 highway project. This 8km Presov West-Presov South section will cost €356 million to construct. The project will be carried out by the D1 Presov Consortium. The project partners in the consortium comprise Eurovia SK, Eurovia CS, Doprastav, Metrostav and Metrostav Slovakia. The five sections of highway are worth €173.2 million in all, with investments of €59 million planned for 2012.
