Six new highways for India’s Gujarat State

In India work is in hand for six new highways in Gujarat State. Approval for the projects has been given by the Indian Government. The new links will be two lane National Highways. The longest of the six links will be the 181km connection between Mahuva and Jetpur, with the next longest being the 165km Radhanpur-Charada stretch and followed by the 163km section between Bhimasar and Khavda. In India work is in hand for six new highways in Gujarat State. Approval for the projects has been given by the Indian Government. The new links will be two lane National Highways. The longest of the six links will be the 181km connection between Mahuva and Jetpur, with the next longest being the 165km Radhanpur-Charada stretch and followed by the 163km section between Bhimasar and Khavda. There will also be a 106km stretch between Ahwa and Pipaliya close to Maharashtra border, the Dhoraji-Jamnagar measuring 103km and the 85km Limbdi-Kunda section. In addition to these six new highways, the Indian Government has also given approval to refurbish the 277km highway that links Bhavnagar and Veraval, with this project costing some $391.5 million.

    A new highway project worth US$184 million has been awarded in Myanmar to a joint venture comprising Punj Lloyd and Varaha Infrastructure. The project will see the construction of an improved road link measuring 120km connecting Yagyi with Kalewa.     A huge development of roads is expected in India. The Indian Government has plans to spend around US$15.29 billion on building 10,000km of roads in the North-East of the country. A significant portion, around $3.73 billion, will be used on roads development in Arunachal Pradesh.
