Singapore highway project planned

Delays have hit a major highway construction project in Singapore. Work on the 21.5km North-South Corridor was originally planned to start towards the end of 2017. However, construction will now commence in 2018. The delays to the start have been cauaed by the need for further revisions to the plans. Delays have hit a major highway construction project in Singapore. Work on the 21.5km North-South Corridor was originally planned to start towards the end of 2017. However, construction will now commence in 2018. The delays to the start have been cauaed by the need for further revisions to the plans. When complete the new North-South Corridor highway will provide a connection between the northern region and the city. Despite the work starting later than planned, Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) believes that the original completion date in 2026 will still be met.

The tender process for the first civil contract is now being opened by the LTA. This portion o the project will require the construction of 1km of road tunnels connecting Novena Rise with Suffolk Walk. The work will also include the design and reconstruction of two pedestrian underpasses at Novena.
