Serbia’s new motorway link on track

Construction is on track for Serbia’s Nis-Dimitrovgrad motorway Corridor 10 project. The construction work of the Nis-Dimitrovgrad stretch is due for completion by the end of 2015. The whole Corridor 10 project should be ready by the end of 2016. The Greek construction firm Actor has the €160 million main contract for the project. Other firms inolved in the project include Czech company Subtera, Greek contractor Terna, Bulgarian firm Trace Group Holding and Spanish company Construcciones Rubau. The project

Construction is on track for Serbia’s Nis-Dimitrovgrad motorway Corridor 10 project. The construction work of the Nis-Dimitrovgrad stretch is due for completion by the end of 2015. The whole Corridor 10 project should be ready by the end of 2016. The Greek construction firm Actor has the €160 million main contract for the project. Other firms inolved in the project include Czech company Subtera, Greek contractor 5467 Terna, Bulgarian firm Trace Group Holding and Spanish company Construcciones Rubau. The project does include the construction of tunnel stretches, forming more challenging aspects of the work.

    Serbia has managed to reduce the cost of building the Corridor 10 highway by €80 million. These funds will instead be used to pay for upgrades and improvements needed for the second section of the highway project, close to Neradovci. So far some 180km of the Corridor 10 highway has been built over a 40 month time frame. A further 150km of the highway has still to be built. Work on the Corridor 10 motorway is also being financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the state budget.

    Work is pushing ahead with the construction of the Corridor 10 and Corridor 11 highway projects in Serbia. Sections of the highway projects will be opened to traffic in 2017.
